The Emergency Point-of-Care Ultrasound (PoCUS) course at Apollo Simulation Centre (ASC) is designed for medical professionals seeking to enhance their diagnostic and intervention skills using ultrasound technology in emergency settings. The course offers an introduction to essential techniques, including E-FAST (Focused Assessment with Sonography for Trauma), lung ultrasound, bedside echocardiography, and the RUSH (Rapid Ultrasound in Shock) protocol. Participants will learn how to perform and interpret critical ultrasound procedures to make quick, informed decisions in emergencies.

The course consists of both online modules and a one-day contact course. The online lectures cover ultrasound basics, knobology, and other theoretical aspects, which are available to participants two weeks before the contact course. This helps candidates prepare well in advance. The contact course is focused on hands-on training, with 70% of the time dedicated to practical sessions. Participants will also get an opportunity to work through case scenarios with expert faculty from Apollo Hospitals, Chennai.
